New York Football Giants - Boy, I sure have been smiling the last two days. Totally unexpected but awesome! I sure read a lot on the boards about how bad the Giants are!

Wade Philips still thinks that Dallas outplayed the Giants. Why did Dallas lose then Wade? Bad coaching IMO. LOL. Well, that's it for now.

Irish,

Great to see ya. Wade Phillips sounds like a clown. Last I checked the team who ends up with more points is the better team.

Great to see you too,  gogmen91...I hope you enjoyed the game as much as I did. Are you liking Coughlin more?

What a great game! Yea, Philips is a clown and 0-4 career in the playoffs.

Hey irish...I thought that was a great game! I was cheering the G-men on... Though, unlike you, I wasn't surprised. I had them picked to win. They have been on a roll, the defense has really picked up speed, and Eli for the past few games has been actually LEADING his team. He is not the same QB that started the season.

So congrats on the win!

(Truthfully, I was more surprised my Bolts pulled it off...They got really banged up and still pulled it off. ).

BornaBolt1, Congratulations on your bolts. What an amazing job they did. I guess I wasn't totally surprised about my Gmen. I was trying to be realistic or not a homer I guess. I was pleased but honestly the Giants have exceeded my expectations this year. To beat the dreaded Cowboys is oh so sweet.

It should be a  couple of great games this weekend. Good luck to your bolts. It's unlikely but you never know...Giants v. Chargers Super Bowl XXXXII.

The Cowboys lost their opportunity when they failed to cash in on many opportunities in the first half.

The protection that Tony Romo was getting combined with the pounding rushing attack led by Marion Barber should have put them comfortably out in front by the half. They had the giants defense just about gassed but the wind blew totally out of their sails when they came up empty after that l-o-o-n-g drive and then Eli Manning and gang led a fast drive for score to close out the half.

The second half was a whole different ballgame. Why Tom Coughlin and that excellent D-coordinator they got from the Eagles did not pressure Romo in the first half I do not know, but they were bringing it in the second half! As the game stayed close, the Cowboys began to doubt their legitimacy and it really showed.

But give credit where it's due. It was more about how the Giants responded in a huge road game and remarkable poise and economical passing from Eli that did it.

The Packers will be in for a battle.

Tigertown,

Did you watch the game? What are you talking about? The Cowboys had 3, count them, 3 possessions in the 1st half and 2 of them went for TDs. They punted after the Giants opened the scoring, then went on to a long TD drive, follwed by that mammoth TD drive that lasted over 10 minutes. So they cashed in on a majority of the opportunities that they ahd.

the problem with scoring a lot of points was that the Giants were not giving them any opportunities for big plays. So they were forced to have a lot of 3,4,5 and so on yard plays. That is what accounted for that 20 play 95 yard drive. The problem was in the 2nd half was that the game was on the line and they thought they couldn't run the ball anymore. That is a staright reflect of the coaching staff and the inexperience they bring to the table.

Anyways, great job by the Giants defense on Sunday. Great job by mannig, bradshwa, toomer and the special teams. Looking forward to a smash mouth game on Sunday.

Correct EMTB but from the top, they let NY score first. Then the one that they HAD to have blew up in their face. Then they got soft and let NY totally seize momentum by allowing that quick strike to end the half with such little time remaining.

Then to think that they "could not run the ball any more" was ridiculous. That was panic. The game was dead close. They had run excellently. NY stopped filling the box in the second half. The "boys abandoned the run when the defense that the Giants played in that second half begged for them to do just that - RUN IT!

You are right about the "inexperience that the Dallas coaching staff brings to the table"...although all that I have read to date this year and continue to read is that Jason Garrett (Cowboys offensive coordinator) is s-o-o innovative, dynamic and brilliant that the demand for him to be a head coach elsewhere in the league would be s-o-o strong that perhaps "Mr. Controlling"  Jerry Jones would have to fire Wade Phillips and replace him with Garrett so that they did not lose this "inexperienced" coordinator and head coach in-the-wings to another organization.

Hmmm..

IrishNY: why was your comment removed? Do you know?

My dad is a lifelong NY Football Giants fan. He was really excited by the win over Dallas, but when I spoke with him this weekend, he didn't seem too concerned about it. Eli's been tough to beat on the road this year, and he didn't do as badly as Romo. So there you are ... the NFC Championship game. Good for you, IrishNY, and good luck this weekend.

Coach,

I removed the comment. It's funny, didn't realize that everyone could see that. I deleted it as it was a duplicate of my previous comment.

On to the important stuff, your dad has good taste in teams.  Well, at least in football. I'm a diehard Giants fan, met Wellington Mara once, been to many a Giants game over the years.

Very exciting to beat the Cowboys. The Giants are playing with house money now.

I appreciate the good wishes coach. Good luck to your team as well.
